Strategic Thinking Under Pressure: Lessons learned in delivering a new Heavy Vehicle Access Regime

Sharyn Van Rooyen holds a Bachelor of Laws from QUT and is admitted as a Barrister-at-Law in Queensland. With over 25 years supporting Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads on a wide variety of complex, multi-stakeholder projects, Sharyn now works as a member of the Structures and Network Access Program team. Sharyn is known for bridging legal, technical, and governance perspectives, and enjoys challenging assumptions, identifying high-impact activities, and using evidence and logic as the basis of decision-making. Her practical approach and “plain English” communication is aimed at reinforcing the value of critical thinking and strategic discipline in shaping the future of the new heavy vehicle access regime.
