Dr. Hamidreza Sahebzamani is the R&D and Technical Support Manager at SAMI Bitumen Technologies and a recipient of the Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) National Emerging Leader Award. He holds BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Tehran, specializing in road engineering, with a PhD focused on low-temperature cracking of asphalt mixtures.
With over 15 years of experience, he began his career in Iran at Kandovan Pars Company, progressing through senior technical, R&D, and innovation leadership roles and contributing to national asphalt and pavement standards. He also gained international research experience during his doctoral studies in France.
Since relocating to Australia in 2022, Dr. Sahebzamani has led technical services and now heads SAMI’s central R&D laboratory. He has authored over 30 papers, translated technical books, and contributes to committees across AfPA, Austroads, IBEF, AustStab, and Australian Standards, with a strong focus on sustainable road infrastructure.
