Key Pavement Characteristics Identified from the Field Trial of Sustainable Carbon Mastic Asphalt

Dr. Hanwen Cui, CPEng, RPEQ, JP is a practicing Civil Engineer in Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, working on the delivery of infrastructure construction and maintenance projects, including batter slope remediation, pavement re-surfacing, and road safety projects. He graduated from UNSW with a PhD in Civil Engineering, investigating nature-based eco-friendly hydraulic structures and multi-phase flows. He also established himself in the field of sustainable construction materials and geotechnical engineering through academic research. His current
research interests are sustainable hydraulic structures, resilient construction materials, pavement, geotechnical engineering, and road safety. Hanwen holds a position as Office Bearer in EA Queensland Civil College, and he is dedicated to leverage the interface between policy, academia and industry to deliver innovative solutions to challenging practical problems.
