Lawrence Hu is a Principal Engineer with the TMR Metropolitan Region Asset Management Team, responsible for managing a variety of bridges and major culverts of different types and scales within the Brisbane, Redland, and Ipswich City Council areas. He holds a PhD from The University of Queensland and has 44 years of experience in structural engineering, including 24 years specialising in bridge engineering.
Throughout his career, Lawrence has been extensively involved in all stages of structural design, as well as the review of bridge and other structural designs across various types and scales. He has also served as a site administrator on several large-scale construction projects. His expertise encompasses structural planning, inspection and investigation, maintenance and rehabilitation, research, lecturing, and the development of Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridge decks.
In addition, Lawrence has conducted technical reviews of engineering investigation reports and conference papers. He has made significant contributions to the development, updating, and review of TMR technical specifications, standard drawings, and evaluations of proprietary products.
