Risk Evaluation Paradigms – Deterministic and Probabilistic Approaches in Practice

Jagath has over 42 years of postgraduate experience in the construction and infrastructure industry. He began his career as a Professional Engineer in local government, contributing to land and infrastructure development in Victoria for 17 years. He later joined Connell Wagner as a Senior Engineer before moving to the TMR, where he has served for 17 years in senior leadership roles.

His expertise spans infrastructure planning, program and project development, business case preparation, design, project management, cost estimating, and risk evaluation for major projects.

As current Manager (Estimating and Risk) at TMR, Jagath has developed training packages and delivering project risk evaluation sessions to TMR staff, consultants, and local government engineers for over a decade.

He authored TMR’s first Project Risk Management and Contingency Development Process Manual, now publicly available. Jagath is passionate about advancing risk evaluation techniques from identification through quantification and integration into detailed risk models.
