Dr Hannah Seligmann is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland and is affiliated with the Centre for Future Materials.
She has worked on projects across Australia assessing the performance and environmental impact of alternative construction materials, including coal combustion products, recycled glass, and landfill-derived wastes. Her recent publications include research on sustainable concrete and mortar using waste glass, and studies on the real-world challenges of adopting circular economy practices in construction. Hannah is also a recipient of an Advance Queensland grant investigating the use of coal combustion products to improve expansive soils under road infrastructure. Her key partner in this work is the Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD). This work combines laboratory testing, engineering performance, and environmental assessment to support solutions that are technically robust and commercially viable.
