Joe is a Principal Technology Leader with over 20 years’ experience in pavement engineering, including design and rehabilitation, material specifications, construction support and forensic investigations.
Since joining the NTRO in 2016 as a lead researcher and technical advisor, Joe has delivered several strategically significant projects focussed on pavement and material technologies, including updating Part 4B: Asphalt of the Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology, being the lead author of the ARRB Unsealed Road Best Practice Guide and developing and delivering several national training packages.
As the Agreement Manager for the National Asset Centre of Excellence (NACOE) in Queensland, he is also responsible for the delivery of a strategically significant research program in collaboration with the Queensland Department of Transport in Main Roads. He is also Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia, and is the current secretary for the Austroads Asphalt Research Technical Group.
