Unlocking Early Contractor Involvement in Transport Infrastructure: Insights for Future Success

Author: James Gleeson

Early Contractor Involvement is a model often used in Queensland to accelerate and optimise the delivery of transport infrastructure projects. But does it? This presentation will explore unique insights into the delivery of major transport infrastructure under the Early Contractor Involvement model, through the lenses of both a supplier and a principal. Drawing from recent experiential learnings from the M1 North upgrade Stage 1 and Coomera Connector Stage 1, we offer actionable recommendations through the application of our productivity optimisation framework. Designed to better manage change, the framework strengthens innovation, increases digital adoption, and embeds sustainable practices for future major transport infrastructure projects.
