Matt Kolesnik is a Technical Officer within the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Engineering and Technology Branch, Safety Technology Assets Directorate.
Prior to joining TMR in early 2025, Matt built more than fourteen years of experience at Brisbane City Council, where he progressed from an electrician into a range of qualified and responsible roles. His background is further complemented by service in the Australian Defence Force (ADF)
In his role within Engineering and Technology, Matt is responsible for the maintenance and operation of camera enforcement devices across Queensland. He has played a leading role in the delivery and transfer of contractual ownership for enforcement cameras in school zones and roadwork sites, an important safety initiative and a key priority for the Queensland Government.
Matt’s presentation today will focus on the implementation of TMR’s Roadway Behaviour Monitoring System and how camera enforcement is used to support speed limit compliance in school zones and roadwork environments.
