Dr Darren Newell (CPEng, RPEQ) is a Technical Principal Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the design, construction and management of transport infrastructure projects. He has delivered numerous TMR projects primarily in South-east Queensland, but also as far as Far North Queensland. These projects have included all stages, from planning and design through to construction and maintenance. Darren’s PhD research examined the soil-structure interaction of FRP reinforced micropiles in overconsolidated soils. His research interests include numerical modelling, material testing and instrumentation.
