An innovation solution to shape future heavy vehicle access

Author: Matthew Elischer

The Tasmania Department of State Growth (TDSG) have developed and implemented an innovative Heavy Vehicle Access Management System (HVAMS) that has revolutionized heavy vehicle access management on their road and bridge network.

TMR are working in partnership with TDSG to develop Queensland modules within HVAMS to transform oversize overmass vehicle access arrangements for road mangers, including local governments, and industry. This forward-thinking solution will provide a once-in-a-generational change to road and bridge access management in Queensland. It will also enable TMR to align with the national heavy vehicle reform activity to develop a National Automated Access System for heavy vehicles based on HVAMS.

The presentation will share TDSG’s journey in developing the system, benefits experience by them and their industry stakeholders, and showcase a live demonstration to display the key features that make this solution a win-win for road managers and the heavy vehicle industry. The presentation will also highlight the features developed specifically for Queensland.
